Dr. Parkhurst's passion for dentistry began in high school over 25 years ago when she trained to be a dental assistant. The experience drove her to pursue an education and a career in dental hygiene, which she practiced for 10 years while working toward her ultimate goal of becoming a dentist. This dental hygiene background has helped shape Dr. Delina Parkhurst's approach to patient care at Barclay Family Dental in Cherry Hill, NJ. Dr. Parkhurst has a passion for the art and science of dentistry, with an ultimate goal of building professional, long-lasting relationships with patients based on trust and honesty. During Dr. Parkhurst's studies at New Jersey Dental School in Newark and her dental residency at Staten Island University Hospital in New York, she received several prestigious awards for excellence in dentistry. She was also inducted into Omicron Kappa Upsilon, the dental honor society. Although interested in all facets of dentistry, Dr. Parkhurst took particular interest in surgical procedures. She took advanced oral surgery courses in dental school and spent many hours continuing her education in advanced surgical procedures and implant placement. Her oral surgery training and implant placement education support her particular interest in full mouth rehabilitation, both with and without dental implants.
Dr. Parkhurst believes education is an ongoing commitment and regularly attends continuing education courses related to advancements in dental technology, techniques, and materials to implement into her daily practice. As a South Jersey dentist with surgical training, she remains dedicated to providing personalized care and maintaining her professional skills.
